Be prepared for unsettled weather into this long weekend, Squamish.
According to Squamish meteorologist Jason Ross, planning for sun and rain when adventuring is a must.
"A weak area of high pressure will bring clearing over the south coast today. The ridge is short-lived as another upper low slowly moves southward across the province tonight into Saturday with showers. High pressure will rebuild on Sunday with clearing across the south coast," Ross wrote in an email to The Squamish Chief.
Environment Canada predicts much of the same, with sun and clouds today, showers on Saturday, and then back to sun and clouds on Sunday.
Environment Canada predicts a high of 17 C today, 14 C on Saturday, 18 C on Sunday, and 20 C on Monday. It also predicts some gusty winds on Friday and Saturday that may subside for Sunday and Monday.

Stay safe this long weekend
The May long weekend is notoriously troublesome on B.C. roads.
According to the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) over the Victoria Day long weekend, on average, three people are killed and 455 people are injured in crashes in this province, based on a five year average from 2018 to 2022. Speed is a top contributing factor in these crashes.
“Speed plays a role in every crash,” said Shabnem Afzal, ICBC’s director of road safety in a news release. “The higher the speed, the more time and distance you need to stop, making it harder to avoid crashing. When you drive at a safe speed, you can prevent crashes and protect the lives of all road users.”
Law enforcement will be continuing to focus on speeding through the long weekend, ICBC says.
Have a great day, Squamish!
