SLRD board approves Anderson Lake dock improvements

'We saw a huge growth in people' accessing the area, chair says

The dock at Anderson Lake is going to see some improvements this summer.

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District board approved up to $7,500 for improvements to the dock at Anderson Lake at its June 23 meeting.

The improvements include two new picnic tables, new signage, a gravel pad and porta potty rentals.

“We saw a huge growth in people camping and travelling into Anderson Lake and Birkenhead and all of those areas through the pandemic … and we’re seeing it again this year,” said SLRD chair Jen Ford, adding that the enhancements will “really give people a chance to be educated on how we would like to welcome our guests to the area, so that it’s not falling on the local residents with limited resources.”
