Prince George Spruce Kings Show Home extended, ticket sales steady despite COVID-19

Roughly 1,200 tickets remain for 50/50 draw

You now have four extra weeks to plan on possibly winning a new house through the 2020 Spruce Kings Show Home.

Organizers for the Prince George draw have announced an extension of ticket sales until Monday, May 25 with about 1,650 tickets left for the show home, worth approximately $730,000, and 1,200 Period Three 50/50 tickets.

Should all of the Period Three tickets sellout, the winner could win up to $50,000.

Organizers also say before COVID-19, ticket sales were steady, but since the pandemic has struck the city and the world, they slowed down.

The show home, located at 2738 Links Drive near Aberdeen Glen Golf Course, was also closed as a result of virus and physical-distancing recommendations.

"In the past two weeks, we have witnessed Prince George and the true community fashion come together and support the Spruce Kings and engage in the excitement. I am happy to report ticket sales are doing well," says Spruce Kings Show Home organizers.

"This sales extension will allow us more time to achieve our goal of a sell out for both draws."

While the home is closed for tours, there are virtual tours available for the public; you can also check out the video PrinceGeorgeMatters made below.

The home was custom built by Hopson Construction Ltd. and is a fully-furnished home, including furniture, television and appliances.

The new draw date for both prizes is set for Friday, May 29.

For those interested, tickets for the house are $125 each, while the Period Three 50/50 tickets are $25 each.

You can purchase tickets online, by calling 250-962-4946 or 1-955-962IWIN.

Tickets are also available for purchase at Theory Hardware and Canadian Tire from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

However, it's being encouraged to avoid buying tickets in-person to practice social-distancing measures.
