See the stars on Astronomy Day

Sunshine Coast Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada

The Sunshine Coast Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is inviting all star gazers to its annual Astronomy Day on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Astronomy Day will be held from 1 to 11:30 p.m. at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. During the day solar scopes will be set up for viewing sun spots and solar flares. Then at sunset there will be a presentation in the amphitheatre, followed by viewing of the night skies. There will be an activity table for children and the Children’s Story Theatre will be there to entertain families.
