Mark Brezer, folk and pop singer, Ken Johnson and Janet Crozier, jazz vocals with piano accompaniment and Sh-Boom, a men's vocal group with a reportoire of oldies and pop favourites will be tonight's performers.

Get your bottles ready for Saturday for the annual Pender Harbour Secondary School grad class bottle drive fundraiser. The grads will be in your neighbourhood to pick-up or you can also call 604-885-5185 for a pick-up for large orders. You can also drop off at GRIPS to donate to the grads.

The newly expanded favourite place to shop The Bargain Barn opens this Saturday.

Thanks again to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly on the renovation.

This Monday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. at the School of Music, the Pender Harbour garden club will host guest speaker John Gillespie popular garden author, master arborist and journeyman horticulturalist with a passion for environmental design and development.

He will lead an in-depth presentation on soils; types, purposes, enhancement and applications as well as providing samples for comparisons. Admission for non-members is by donation.

Also on Monday the Pender Harbour hiking group will be on the soil at the Carson Lake Loop in Halfmoon Bay. On Wednesday, Jan. 15 join them at Ruby Lake as they head towards Klein Lake via Dan Bosch Park. Habourside Friendships meets this Thursday, Jan. 16 in their new location -the Pender Harbour Community Hall starting off with coffee at 10:30 a.m. followed with a morning of games, Bingo, scrabble and cards. Bring your friends and have some fun. Hot lunch will be served at noon for $10. Everyone is welcome. For information please call Cathy at 604-883-9760.

The Legion is having a tribute for Walt Wickson retiring president of the Legion next Saturday, Jan. 18. Tickets are $10, which includes dinner.

Tickets for Robbie Burns Night on Jan. 25 are also on sale at the Legion and Harbour Insurance for just $30. The evening will include entertainment by the Coast String Fiddlers and the Legion pipe band.
