Hundreds of dance performances during the Coastal Dance Festival resulted in the first round of awards in the 2024 Sunshine Coast Festival of the Performing Arts.

Multi-instrumentalist and storyteller Bronwyn Claire Asha premiered As I Roved Out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year. She expanded her one-woman show into a full-length performance for her current tour of Salish Sea communities.

National Poetry Month was established in Canada in 1998 by the League of Canadian Poets and takes place every April. The event unites schools, publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, and poets from across the country in a celebration of the primacy of poetry in Canadian culture.

Fledgling fiddlers from the Sunshine Coast participated in a regional summit that united 103 instrumentalists from across Western Canada. The 2024 West Coast Youth Fiddle Summit took place in Nanaimo from April 12 to 14.

The Kube gallery in Gibsons held its inaugural Mini Makers Market on April 13.
