Special Olympics celebrate the holidays

Special Olympics Sunshine Coast held their annual Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Sechelt. Over 90 people attended and Santa made an appearance bringing wonderful gifts to all the athletes. Jordan McCourt collected recycling all year and made a donation of $1,000. He is pictured presenting the cheque to local Special Olympics BC coordinator Pat Stuart). The Sechelt Legion also made a donation of $500. This money will help Special Olympics provide 14 sport programs in the community for people with developmental disabilities in 2019. Special Olympics Sunshine Coast thanks the donors, Greg Petula for providing a delicious meal, Mike Oswald for providing the music and all the coaches and volunteers for their wonderful support all year.
