Coast boxers Marcus Davies and Angela Canterutti trained at Boxing BC’s pre- nationals training camp in Richmond March 18 to 22 in preparation for the Canadian championships, which will take place this April in Victoria.
Davies earned his place on the B.C. team by winning a box off earlier this year to punch his ticket to the nationals and possibly international competition.
Joining Davies at the training camp was Gibsons’ Angela Canterutti.
Cantarutti is considered a prospect for the 2020 National Championships and has been invited to train with B.C.’s best boxers.
Canterutti has returned to boxing after a year of pursuing her kickboxing interest and is enjoying boxing again at the Lift Gym in Wilson Creek with certified boxing and fitness trainers who volunteer their time to the Sunshine Coast Boxing Club.
Sunshine Coast Boxing Club founder Rick Shannon is pleased to announce that live amateur boxing will return to the Coast when War On The Shore 6 takes place in Gibsons on Saturday, June 1 in an event featuring boxing sanctioned by Boxing Canada.
There will be Coast boxers in competitive bouts as well as locals boxing in “white collar” bouts to raise money for local charities.
