Sophie Woodrooffe Photos - Oct. 28, 2018 On Sunday, Oct. 28, crowds gathered at Coopers Green Park for the 10th anniversary of the Halfmoon Bay Apple Festival. As always, organizer Katie Angermeyer was on site with her copper kettle to churn local apples into butter. Local band, the Cornpones, brought an Appalachian sound to the festival, while vendors raised money for various causes, including animal welfare and a playground for Halfmoon Bay Elementary School. Angermeyer said it was another successful year. She founded the festival after being immersed in Appalachian culture while working for a non-profit in Kentucky.
