On behalf of our members, the Chamber thanks everyone in our wonderful community.
Some, like our amazing health care teams, first responders and numerous essential businesses, are doing their part very actively. Others of us are doing our part, less actively, by staying home. We applaud all of you for doing whatever it takes to keep our community safe.
Remember, whether large or small, businesses are teams of people – people who are our friends, our neighbours. They have the same burdens as those of us staying home. Despite this, those businesses that can stay open are giving so much, at this time.
For those at home, I encourage you to “up your game” by actively supporting businesses who have been able to stay open. Continue to order takeout food, to (carefully) use our other retail outlets, to get those home repairs done, to advertise and to make plans for a brighter future.
For businesses that have had to close their doors and lay off staff, know that we continue to support you and look forward to your return. And, customers of businesses that have had to close, I hope you will reach out to the owners and their staff to let them know they have your support and you can’t wait for them to reopen.
