Editor:
It would be very useful to know how to pronounce the First Nations place names on our new highway signage.
By the same token, any use of a First Nations term or name employed in a Coast Reporter article or editorial would be less of an abstract exercise if readers were able to relate to the name/term by being able to correctly pronounce it.
To this end, may I suggest all such references in Coast Reporter be accompanied by a phonetic equivalent as a matter of policy?
