Just have to say how enjoyable three Saturday afternoons have been at the Gambier Island Community Centre's Arts and Ideas series, conceived by Geoff and Brigid Smedley.
Thanks to the Sunshine Coast Regional District for awarding the grant that makes the series possible. The Gambier Community Centre organizers greet guests with delicious snacks, and everyone socializes easily, sipping tea or coffee until the main event begins. Richard Henriquez, the renowned architect and sculptor, was featured most recently. What an intelligent, imaginative, truly original character. How entertaining to listen to his thoughts and see images of his amazing work, then step out into the sunshine and walk the short distance to the ferry dock, head filled with the intellectual equivalent of sugar plums as the Stormaway sailed us home.
