Town hall meeting Jan. 20

Seniors Advocate

The Sunshine Coast Senior Citizens COSCO-BC and the Community Resource Centre are pleased to invite all interested residents to a town hall Meeting with B.C. Seniors Advocate Isobel Mackenzie.

The meeting is from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the Sechelt Indian Band Hall.

“I want to hear from seniors and their family members who live on the Lower Sunshine Coast,” said Mackenzie. “You are invited to share what is working and not working for seniors in your community. I will discuss my role, seniors’ concerns heard in B.C., the housing review and other monitoring. There will ample time for the audience to participate in questions and discussion. I look forward to meeting you and hearing about your concerns.”

Mackenzie is B.C.’s and Canada’s the first ever Seniors Advocate. This is her first trip to the Sunshine Coast in her advocate role since she was appointed last fall.

Whether you are a senior, a family member of, a caregiver or service provider to the Sunshine Coast seniors’ population you will want to get to know and hear from Mackenzie.
