Small quake felt on Coast

Georgia Strait

National Resources Canada (NRC) say a magnitude 3.2 earthquake hit in the Georgia Strait just before 7 a.m. Thursday morning (Dec. 11).

NRC said they received reports of the quake being felt in several places on the Sunshine Coast, including Roberts Creek, Sechelt and Halfmoon Bay and the mid-Island and as far south as Salt Spring Island.

There has been no damage reported. According to the NRC, given the small magnitude of the quake, no damage would be expected.
