Seniors advocate to report on housing options

Seniors Planning Table

Seniors housing will be front and centre on Saturday, May 23 at the Seniors Activity Centre in Sechelt, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. B.C.’s Seniors Advocate, Isobel Mackenzie, will present her newest report, on housing and residential care for B.C. seniors.

Many Coasters will remember Mackenzie’s visit in January, when she told a packed house about the range of issues identified by her office and needing attention from governments and others. Seniors housing came up repeatedly, and it’s an issue facing many Sunshine Coast residents, whether for themselves or for aging parents.

Come find out what options are under discussion and how we might work together to improve the range of choices. Bring your questions for the seniors advocate and browse the tables of local providers of housing and services.

The event is free and is sponsored by the new Seniors Planning Table, with the support of the Community Resource Centre and Sunshine Coast Community Foundation.
