The shuffle of senior staff among local governments on the Sunshine Coast continues.
The District of Sechelt has announced that David Douglas, the current director of finance at Gibsons, will join the district staff as director of financial services on Aug. 6.
Douglas has almost 18 years of public-sector experience, including 10 years as director of financial services for the City of Powell River and two years as manager of finance at the District of Ucluelet.
“Having worked with David in Ucluelet, I am confident that he will be a great addition to our team. We look forward to him leading the financial services team,” said Andrew Yeates, Sechelt’s chief administrative officer, in a release announcing Douglas’s appointment.
Last month the district announced that Andrew Allen, the Sunshine Coast Regional District’s manager of planning and development, had been hired fill the position of director of planning in Sechelt.
