SCRD Pride

Splashes of rainbow coloured the optics of the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) boardroom, June 12. “[Elphinstone] director [Donna] McMahon and I put the challenge out to the directors as well as to staff to join us in dressing brightly for Pride Month, just to celebrate pride,” said SCRD chair Lori Pratt at Thursday’s board meeting. Both Sechelt and Gibsons have proclaimed June Pride Month but regional districts don’t have the power to make proclamations. “We wanted to make sure we’re able to acknowledge and celebrate, that’s why we’re a little on the colourful side today,” said Pratt.
