RCMP hosts community barbecue

Sunshine Coast RCMP are hosting their annual Community Appreciation Barbecue at the detachment headquarters in Sechelt on Thursday, Aug. 15 from noon to 3 p.m. “There will be free hot dogs, drinks, freezies, cake and popcorn,” Const.

Sunshine Coast RCMP are hosting their annual Community Appreciation Barbecue at the detachment headquarters in Sechelt on Thursday, Aug. 15 from noon to 3 p.m.

“There will be free hot dogs, drinks, freezies, cake and popcorn,” Const. Karen Whitby said in a release. “Kids will love the face painting and colouring station. Show us how strong your pitching arm is with speeds monitored by radar.”

RCMP members will be joined by community partners such as CrimeStoppers, Restorative Justice, Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, Ground Search and Rescue, Conservation, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Forestry and Natural Resources as well as mascot Safety Bear and police puppy Lema.

Everyone is invited to attend.
