• On Nov. 5, a hit and run to a parked vehicle occurred at the BC Ferries Terminal parking lot in Langdale. The complainant returned to her vehicle in the long-term lot and found a large scrape on the passenger side and no note from the offending driver. Police are reviewing surveillance video for the possible suspect and the file is still under investigation.

• On Nov. 7, a hit and run involving a vehicle and bike occurred on Ti'Ta Way near the 5500 block of Sunshine Coast Highway, Sechelt. The vehicle driver was exiting a parking lot and stopped when a cyclist rode into the vehicle, damaging a rear light. The vehicle driver stopped but the cyclist rode on without stopping to trade information with the driver. Police are reviewing dash cam footage and the file is still under investigation.

• Late on Nov. 8, police attended a vehicular hit and run at an outdoor gathering in the 6100 block of Trout Lake Road, Halfmoon Bay, after one of the attendees got into his vehicle and did doughnuts in the mud, hitting three empty parked vehicles in the process. The driver fled the scene before police could speak with him. The drivers of the three damaged vehicles were advised to report the incident to ICBC, and police will be issuing the driver of the suspect vehicle violation tickets for driving without due care and attention and failing to remain at the scene of a collision. The file is still under investigation.

Collision

• On Nov. 10, police attended a single-vehicle incident on Highway 101 near Blower Road, Sechelt, after a vehicle went off road, struck a boulder, which dislodged a tire, and then went into a ditch and struck a hydro pole. The unimpaired driver and passenger were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and the vehicle had to be towed from the scene. The matter has been referred to ICBC.

• On Nov. 11, police attended a single-vehicle incident on Highway 101 near Homesite Creek, Halfmoon Bay, after a boat and trailer ended up in the ditch. The driver advised he’d noticed some possible mechanical issues before he lost control of the trailer and went partially off the road. The driver was not injured but the trailer did sustain some damage and two tow trucks were required to remove the trailer and boat, which affected traffic flow for a couple of hours.

Break and Enter

• On Nov. 11, police attended a break and enter and mischief complaint at a residence in the 5600 block of Wharf Avenue, Sechelt.
