Stephanie Noel won $1 million and will celebrate her birthday Nov. 10 in a rented mansion on the Sunshine Coast.

The winner of a $1-million lottery prize was set to celebrate her good fortune with a big birthday bash on the Coast.

“I’ve rented a mansion overlooking the ocean on the Sunshine Coast and all my friends will be there,” Stephanie Noel said. “The champagne is already on ice!”

The Vancouver chef matched all seven numbers to win a $1 million Lotto Max prize on an Oct. 12 draw. Her birthday is Nov. 10.

Noel purchased the winning ticket at a gas station while visiting Ladysmith, but didn’t check the ticket for nearly a month, B.C. Lottery Corporation said in a release.

She discovered her win when she was buying cat food at a drug store on Hastings Street and decided to check her tickets.

“I remained calm but I was also very excited and didn’t know what was going on,” she said of her reaction.

She plans to pay off her car and look at investing in real estate, but travel is her short-term goal.

“I want to go to Mexico and have my friends come and visit me there,” she said.

“It will make for an easier retirement.”
