Four candidates standing for mayor and eight vying for councillor will crowd the podium at the All Candidates Forum hosted by Gibsons & District Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Oct. 9 starting at 6 p.m. sharp. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Coast TV will broadcast the two-and-a-half-hour event live from Elphinstone School gym.

“Gibsons voters are engaged and invested in local government elections,” said Chamber president Ted McNicol. “We anticipate at least as strong a turnout for voting as 2014, when Gibsons ranked eighth in the province. And we at the Chamber know our community will be asking the candidates hard questions on a wide range of topics at this event. The larger venue, and the fact that it’s being televised, means more people can attend, engage, and be informed on the issues and platforms.”

Priority will be given to questions emailed to the Chamber (exec@gibsonschamber.com) or delivered in writing before the start of the forum. If time permits, additional questions may be asked by those in attendance.
