Gambier Island area trustee Dan Rogers has been named as one of the vice chairs of the Islands Trust council. The council held its inaugural meeting on Nov. 8, and the trustees chose Peter Luckham of the Thetis Island area as chair, a role he held during the last term as well.

Trustees Sue Ellen Fast from Bowen Island and Laura Patrick of the Salt Spring Island area will serve as the other two vice chairs for 2018-20.

Luckham, Rogers, Fast and Patrick will make up the executive committee, which oversees the daily-to-day business of the Trust. The full Islands Trust council meets quarterly.

Rogers and Kate-Louise Stamford were acclaimed as the trustees for the Gambier Island area, which includes Keats, in the Oct. 20 local government elections. Stamford was elected to serve on the Islands Trust Conservancy Board, a land conservancy for Canada’s islands in the Salish Sea.
