Large crowds lined Cowrie Street in Sechelt Nov. 30 to take in the annual Festival of Lights Parade. This year saw a total of 27 floats. Saxon Contracting, for the second year in a row, won top prize for its full-length Santa Claus sleigh and reindeer float. Second prize went to Popeye’s Lockers and Storage. Third went to Swanson’s Ready Mix and its super-lit cement truck. “The companies really go all out,” said Theressa Logan of the Sechelt Downtown Business Association. “The effort and time they put into this is really fabulous. We have to thank them for all their efforts, for sure, because they make it for everybody.”
