Rosie the Riveter (aka Maureen Ainslie) may have been slightly out of her time zone, but Rosie remains a classic in any era.

The Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre was transformed into a 1950s high school prom dance on March 16 for the Fab ‘50s Dinner and Dance, the inaugural event of The Coast Social Events Co. As backdrop to the evening, a massive screen showed stills and movie clips from the ‘50s era, and guests enjoyed a full-course meal and cash bar. Fashions from the 1950s were in evidence, with full skirts and rolled-up jeans shakin’ it on the dance floor to an extensive playlist, culminating in a spirited dance-off. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Seniors Centre’s renovation fund. See more photos in our online galleries at www.coastreporter.net
