A Prince George man will upgrade his guitar collection after striking it big from a scratch and win lottery ticket.

The BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) says Douglas Van Dyke has won $50,000 after playing a Casino Royale II Scratch and Win ticket, which he decided to play when he was at home.

He then checked the ticket at the PG Grocery Express on Strathcona Avenue and to his surprise, he'd won.

“My mind was blank, I was in a little bit of shock when I realized I was a winner," he says.

“I’m ecstatic and it feels awesome.”

Van Dyke plans to purchase a guitar and amp as well as a few other plans.
