Morning motor vehicle accident injures Coquitlam pedestrian

A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after a motor vehicle accident on Lansdowne Drive in Coquitlam on Aug. 17, 2021.

A Coquitlam pedestrian was treated for what appeared to be minor injuries after a vehicle incident this morning (Aug. 17).

RCMP confirm with the Tri-City News the incident took place shortly after 4:30 a.m. on 1100-block Lansdowne Drive — the north-south connector between Guildford Way and the Barnet Highway.

Spokesperson Const. Deanna Law explained first responders attended the accident that involved a vehicle and a pedestrian.

As a result, Lansdowne was blocked between Guildford and Glen Drive for several hours, officially re-opening before 9 a.m.

On social media, photos appeared to show an area of the road taped off in front of a business plaza and across from the sports field at Gleneagle Secondary.

Law said an investigation is ongoing and no other information is being made available at this time.
