Coast Reporter has again been recognized nationally, winning a pair of 2018 Canadian Community Newspaper Awards.
Coast Reporter editor John Gleeson won third place in the Best Local Editorial category for his May 5, 2017 editorial, “Misfortune visits the BC Liberals.” Published four days before the provincial election, the editorial tracked the “downward trajectory” of the BC Liberal campaign, highlighting the Sunshine Coast connections.
In the General Excellence category, Coast Reporter came third for Best Front Page in its circulation class. The awards were announced by News Media Canada on July 17.
