Nurse disciplined for insensitive comments

Simona Dajko to take remedial coursework
law-scales

A Prince George nurse has been disciplined for posting insensitive comments on social media.

Simona Dajko agreed to take remedial coursework and accept a public reprimand under the terms of a consent agreement reached July 14, the B.C. College of Midwives and Nurses said in a short online posting.

The step was taken to "remediate concerns arising from off-duty comments made to social media, namely insensitive, judgmental comments made about an identifiable racial or cultural group of healthcare clients."

Dajko had already voluntarily completed some relevant remedial education prior to reaching the consent agreement with the BCCMN's inquiry committee.

"The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public," the BCCMN said.
