Last Saturday’s concert by Valerie-Anne Rutter was greatly enjoyed by many music lovers in the beautiful atmosphere and excellent acoustic quality of St. Bartholomew's Church in Gibsons. In addition to her exquisitely performed selections on the fine Yamaha community piano and her own three different recorders, Val spoke to her theme of Giving Thanks about her early life in England and developing her musical talents and interests. She talked about moving to Canada in 1992 after performing with many leading personalities, groups and orchestras in the U.K. and Europe. She expressed her gratitude for a healthy and rewarding life in music and her enjoyment of living on the Sunshine Coast.

The audience rose to give Rutter a standing ovation in thanks for her wonderful sensitive performances before moving to chat with her over refreshments in the social hall.
