Waldorf Ballet’s A Bird’s Tale returns for 2019 with an extended storyline, new characters, and loads of adventure.

Three performances are scheduled for June 11, 12 and 13 at the Raven’s Cry Theatre in Sechelt.

This story ballet will take you on an exciting trip to an enchanted forest with a nightingale, fairies, and magical woodland creatures, then to the palace of Diana, goddess of the hunt, her huntsmen and beautiful nymphs. With a cunning capture, daring escape, and peaceful resolution, it is a family-friendly, all-ages performance suited to anyone who enjoys a live production whether they are familiar with ballet or not.

“I am passionate about story ballets and their ability to entertain, educate, and inspire any audience yet still highlight the technique and dedication of the students,” said Johanna Waldorf, artistic director.

Performers are all local students of Waldorf Ballet in Sechelt ranging from the youngest three year olds to the dedicated teens of the Professional Program. Last year’s story ballet, Alice in Wonderland, completely sold out both evenings, so the public is encouraged to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are $18 each, and available at www.waldorfballet.com.
