Squamish artist Jody Broomfield has donated the artwork pictured here to Gibsons Public Art Gallery. The untitled work depicts the legend of the thunderbird, which for the sake of the Squamish people, captured the orca because it had been taking too many salmon. Broomfield’s show runs until the afternoon of Sept. 8, when he will provide a wood carving demonstration at the gallery.
