An upcoming show brings together an exciting performance featuring members of the Fitzgerald family from Ontario. With roots in the Canadian old-time fiddle tradition and Ottawa Valley step dancing, these championship fiddlers and dancers blend traditional jigs and reels, bluegrass, swing standards, Celtic and gospel as well as novelty numbers and choreographed dance routines, to bring audiences, young and old, a unique and uplifting musical experience.

Both Julie and Tom Fitzgerald are Canadian grand master fiddle champions, winning the prestigious title in 2009, 2010 and 2012. For this tour, they are joined by their mother Pam on keyboards. In addition, they are very pleased to present Nate Douglas on rhythm guitar and vocals.

Douglas is a member of Natalie MacMaster's full band and recently completed a North American tour.

On percussion and fiddle is B.C.'s own James Law, from Roberts Creek. Law recently completed a music degree program at Humber College in Toronto and is busy recording and performing with his own band, NUA. He has been an instructor at the Sunshine Coast Summer School of Celtic Music.

During the next two months, the band will be performing in venues across B.C., Washington, Oregon and California. The group will begin their tour with an intimate concert at the Gumboot Café in Roberts Creek this Tuesday, Sept. 17. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available at the door.
