A group art show featuring a multi-faceted homage to The Beachcombers TV show has opened at a new gallery in Gibsons.

Relics of Our Past: The Beachcombers Reimagined features works by more than 20 local and national artists, including Ed Hill, Gigi Hoeller, and Ben Tour, according to a news release from the gallery. The exhibit will be on display at Orca’s Pod Community Art Hub in lower Gibsons until Oct. 25.

This summer marks the 30th anniversary of the wrapping up of production of the internationally popular TV show, which was filmed in Gibsons and ran for 20 years on CBC. Among the iconic locations featured in the series was the eatery Molly’s Reach, which was just a façade during the production but later became a functioning restaurant.

“The show also features memorabilia donated by the Sunshine Coast Museum & Archives and former Beachcombers star Jackson ‘Constable John’ Davies,” the release added. Among the rare items at the show are spoken-word and music records made by actor Bruno Gerussi, who played lead character Nick Adonidas.

The gallery is located at #14 – 292 Gower Point Rd. with listed opening hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
