There are usually more arts and entertainment events and potential stories in any week on the Sunshine Coast than we have space to tell you about. We did our best to provide a spectrum of coverage of our vibrant theatre, visual arts, written arts, music and dance communities throughout the year.
As our local Community Foundation cited in its Vital Signs report, a much higher proportion (4.8 per cent) of the adult Coast population works in the arts, compared to B.C. (2.9 per cent) or Canada as a whole (2.2 per cent).
So, if it seems you bump into artists here more than twice as often as you might in the rest of the country, it’s not your imagination.
