On Dec. 10, 2007, Led Zeppelin played a live concert of the band's signature blues-infused rock 'n' roll. Founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, to perform 16 songs from their celebrated catalogue including landmark tracks "Whole Lotta Love," "Rock and Roll," "Kashmir" and "Stairway To Heaven."
Now, fans in more than 40 territories worldwide will be able to get a front row seat to experience this historic event in glorious high definition and incredible surround sound.

Crawl reception
Woods Showcase at Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons, gets a Friday night start on the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl. All are welcome to stop by the store tonight from 5 to 9 p.m. to enjoy refreshments and see a display of fine woodworking, For the Love of Wood(s).
A dozen Coast wood artisans will show functional furniture, bowls for the kitchen, wood carvings and unique pieces. On Saturday, the mini wood show continues, and author Jan DeGrass will also be in attendance to meet the public from 1 to 3 p.m. to sign her new novel, Jazz With Ella.

Concert series
The Pender Harbour Music Society's annual concert series begins Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. with Two Much Guitar, featuring legends Bill Coon and Oliver Gannon.
The series provides the Coast with world-class performances in all genres, and this year, all concerts are Sundays at 2 p.m.

Big screen day
The Sechelt Festival of the Arts kicked off with a bang to a full house at the Raven's Cry Theatre. The Big Screen Day Dream wowed the audience with moving visuals, set to original songs. Musicians Steve Weave, Jeff Doran, Nir Blu and Patrick Haavisto played a set that varied from social justice themes to Sunshine Coast living and tore through a rock song about playing Lego.
Both the opening dance performance Fire and Ice and The Big Screen Day Dream will be featured on Coast Cable on Monday, Oct. 22, and Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m.
Green film series
The Green Film Series continues on Oct. 23 with the screening of Big Boys Gone Bananas!This is the true story about a Swedish filmmaker and a multinational banana corporation, dirty tricks, lawsuits, manipulation and the price of free speech.
The film screens at the Heritage Playhouse in Gibsons on Tuesday. Doors open at 7, film at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 or $7 for members, available with reservations at www.greenfilms.ca and at door.
Theory workshop
Here is a good chance for you to learn the basics of theory while learning to play the pennywhistle. Want to play along with those fiddlers or jam with the guitar players? Come out and see how easy it can be. Course is $125 including whistle and book. The workshop runs Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Oct. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Music Makers studio, 4669 Simpkins Rd. in Davis Bay.

Pender pipe band
The Pender Harbour Pipe Band is seeking new musicians.
Formed in 1989, the band continues to lead the Harbour's annual parades, with some original members still in the line-up. Remembrance Day is the most significant parade of the year, and the May Day parade heralds the coming of summers. The band plays a significant role in the Legion's annual Robbie Burns Night celebrations and other events. Members are enthusiastic and fun-loving and welcome like-minded additions to their ranks, particularly pipers and drummers. Practice night is Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the School of Music. Nutcracker
Mounting the Nutcracker ballet is a huge job, but David and Kathy Holmes of Coasting Along Theatre are on it, and have so far booked 13 performances. What they need now is help, and have put out the call for a costume design team, folks handy with scissors and sewing, a team to make/find props, sponsors, fundraisers and contacts to local businesses.
