For a second week running, no COVID-19 cases were detected in people residing in Bowen Island/Lions Bay, BC Centre for Disease Control data shows.

BC CDC data shows that for the week of May 18 to 24:

No Bowen Island/Lions Bay COVID-19 cases reported since the week ending May 10 (the first week of hyper-local community health service area data releases) when the average daily rate of new cases per 100,000 people was 7.8.

While cases are down, vaccinations are very slightly up.

There was no change from last week in the percentage of adults 50 and over who have had at least one vaccine dose: 84 per cent.

What about our North Shore neighbours? In the week ending May 22, West Vancouver reported three new infections while North Vancouver reported 47.

The next Bowen Island vaccination clinic is May 29, the first on-island clinic open to the general public under 70.
