At their Annual General Meeting the Suncoast Woodcrafters Guild elected a new board for 2019.

The Woodcrafters Guild is a non-profit group of hobbyists promoting the craft and exchange of information about wood, woodworking tools and methods to improve members’ skills and enjoyment for creating with wood.

Guild members participate in an annual tradition with the Christmas spirit, building hand-crafted wooden toys and gifts and donating them to Sunshine Coast Community Services Society for distribution to disadvantaged children and families. A generous grant from SCRD grants-in-aid program, a big-hearted donation from Sunshine Coast Community Forest, makes it possible to purchase materials to build these toys and gifts.

The Woodcrafters participate in and support community events such as the Botanical Garden’s Harvest Festival and Community Forest Wood Expo.

The Woodcrafters meet the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Chatelech Secondary School. New members welcome.
