The Salvation Army on the Sunshine Coast is seeking volunteers for the Kettle Campaign.

The Salvation Army on the Sunshine Coast is asking the community for help with fundraising for the 2019 Kettle Campaign, newly appointed director Darrell Pilgrim said this week.

Pilgrim said the group is having many challenges due to the ministry units closing for two or more months for cleanup due to smoke damage from the fire on Oct. 23.

With the 2019 Kettle Campaign kickoff set for Saturday Nov. 23, Pilgrim said he has concerns about organizing the fundraising logistics for this year’s campaign.

He notes that 100 per cent of the kettle funds raised go to those in need on the Sunshine Coast.

The group is asking the community to help in a variety of ways:

For individuals:

• Sign up as a kettle host for one or more two-hour shifts at one of the six locations.

• Donate to the campaign at one of the six locations.

For groups:

• Sign up and organize your group for a day at one or more of the six locations.

• Sponsor $500 or co-sponsor $250 a kettle at one or more of the six locations (staffing the kettle is optional).

From businesses:

• Match the kettle funds on one or more days at one of the six locations (staffing the kettle is optional).

• Sponsor $500 or co-sponsor $250 a kettle at one or more of the 6 locations (staffing the kettle is optional).

• Set up a specialty kettle at your Christmas party instead of exchanging gifts.

• Sign up and organize your business for a day at one or more at one of the six locations.

You can sign up for kettle shifts at sunshinecoastsa.ca/kettles or call 604-989-0479.
