Free water workshop at Exotic Fruit Nursery

A free workshop on water awareness and preparedness for the next dry season will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Exotic Fruit Nursery, 2546 Miles Road, Roberts Creek.

A free workshop on water awareness and preparedness for the next dry season will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Exotic Fruit Nursery, 2546 Miles Road, Roberts Creek. 

This two-hour workshop includes a tour through the farm showing its irrigation systems, different types of water catchments (from rooftop via tanks and channels into ponds and garden swales), shade growing and mulching, drought-tolerant plants, water storage options and types of materials used for containment. Options will be covered for grey water usage and compost toilets and there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
