Why spend Christmas alone? Come share the warmth of Christmas in a caring community with a traditional turkey dinner and delightful music. Please bring along your family and friends if they need a free Christmas dinner this year. Mark your calendar Sunday, Dec. 22.

Several Gibsons churches are working together to provide this community meal to those facing hardship or isolation this Christmas.

The dinner is at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall at 956 Gibsons Way at Park Road. There will be continuous dinner service from 3 to 7 p.m.

The dinner will include turkey, ham, potatoes, mixed vegetables and brussels sprouts, plus a selection of desserts. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and juice will be provided. Organizers expect to serve up to 250 people.

No payment or donation is expected from anyone. Also, don’t let lack of bus fare stop you from coming. Bus fare will be reimbursed for those who cannot afford to pay it.

More volunteers are needed, as well as baked desserts. Volunteers will work in two-hour shifts between 3 and 9 p.m. If you would like to assist, please call Kenan at 604-865-2011, or Paul at 604-747-1070.
