The Roberts Creek Hall recently celebrated its 85th anniversary. A grant from the Sunshine Coast Community Forest Legacy Fund will cover the cost of roof replacement for the iconic structure.

The Roberts Creek Community Association (RCCA) board is thrilled to have secured funding for the Roberts Creek Hall roof replacement, said RCCA vice-president Karen Spicer.

The cost of the upgrade will be covered by a $100,000 contribution from the Sunshine Coast Community Forest Legacy Fund.

Sechelt council approved the grant in a unanimous vote on Oct. 16.

The RCCA will undertake the much-needed project in spring 2020.

The iconic hall was built in 1934. The roof replacement will “ensure that many more generations are able to enjoy this wonderful community space,” Spicer said.
