This year the Chatelech Secondary grad class and the Chatelech Interact Club teamed up on a group community outreach project. The proceeds of this venture will go towards the Free the Children charity. “Our goal was $1,500 and we surpassed that,” said Skylar Moore, club vice president. The final total for the amount earned was $2,000. This total came through the haunted house and the elementary school dance the group held over the Halloween period. The funds were donated to the Free the Children charity in the memory of Isla Miles. “Isla was one of our Chatelech Interact Club mentors who passed away this year. The whole club will miss her and cherish the memories she has given us,” said club president Isurika Bandara.
