Sunday, June 21 is Community Day at Gibsons Legion in recognition of Legion Week, June 21 to 26.
Bring your family for a Father’s Day treat from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a free BBQ, kids’ games, cake, balloons, cotton candy and more. And check out the display tables of local community clubs.
The official opening ceremonies start at 3 p.m. with a Legion parade, colour party, pipe band and special guests, followed at 3:30 p.m. by a candlelight service at the cenotaph to honour our fallen veterans.
The evening wraps up with a meat draw at 4 p.m. and a potluck supper starting at 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, June 23, from 1 to 3 p.m., all are welcome to a strawberry tea. And Wednesday, June 24, come enjoy a veterans luncheon prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary starting at 12:30 p.m.
On Friday night, join friends and family for an Honour the Veterans Dinner. Roast beef and all the trimmings will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for members, $12 for guests, complimentary for veterans and their partners.
