The Sunshine Coast Business Recovery Task Force wants to hear from local businesses owners about what they need to make their reopenings succeed.

The online forum, “The Next 90 Days: Business Recovery on the Sunshine Coast,” is scheduled for June 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

In a release announcing the event, the task force described it as “the best opportunity for owners and operators to provide valuable input about what they need for the next 90 days and beyond … to help remove barriers where possible, and support businesses reopening and thriving under current operating conditions.”

Participating businesses will also get to hear from other businesses about what’s been successful for them and helped the most during the COVID-19 related closures, and “how other businesses might adapt and move forward in the new economy.”

Confirmed speakers include: Keith Ippel from Spring Activator, Brian Smith from Rhiza Capital and Persephone Brewing Company, Bob Hoy from IGA Gibsons, and Mark Yellowley from SC Response Meals and Wheatberries.

The task force was established in early April as part of the local government emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic and includes representatives from Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Organization, Community Futures Sunshine Coast, Sunshine Coast Credit Union, the Gibsons and Sechelt Chambers of Commerce, Sechelt Downtown Business Association, Sunshine Coast Tourism, Work BC and Open Door Group.

The forum is being hosted by Sunshine Coast Business Recovery Centre, www.scbrc.ca, and PowHERhouse Media. Participation is being limited to 60. For more information or to register visit powherhouse.com/scbrc
