The 50th Christmas Craft Fair will kick off the festive season in the Creek next week, Nov. 22 to 24 at the Roberts Creek Community and Masonic Halls. The RCCA is still looking for volunteers to help with this event. Please contact craftfair@robertscreekcommunity.ca
The Gravel-Aires bring an evening of original music to Legion #219 Friday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m. Mark Branscombe (vocals, guitar/harmonica) and Michael Mahoney (guitar/vocals/dobro/mandolin) make up this acoustic roots, North-Americana, country and blues duo. They released their first album, National Avenue, in spring of 2018 and are bringing it to our living room! Members $8, non-members $15. Saturday night it’s Smoothie, one of the first DJs to spin tracks and play sax at the same time, with DJ MAMA. Members $5, non-members $10.

Ryan McNally and Evrytt Willow are at the Gumboot Café, Tuesday, Nov. 19. McNally can’t be kept off Canadian stages. He has a passion for traditional blues, jazz and old time music that permeates his performances. Rounding up the evening is Willow, with folk songs delivered softly, reminiscent of an age long forgotten. They will both be playing solo sets, so come get cozy for an intimate evening. Doors at 7 p.m., music 7:30 p.m., $10 to 20 sliding scale cover.
Also at the Café, Creative in the Creek is Thursday, Nov. 21, our homegrown answer to the Ed Sullivan Show, with admission by donation.
After 55 years the Roberts Creek Branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary has disbanded, unable to enlist enough members to keep it viable. Formed when St. Mary’s (now Sechelt) Hospital was built in 1964, its members work in the Thrift Store and Hospital Gift Shop to raise money for local healthcare, staff the Loan Cupboard to provide medical equipment for home-use, and provide comfort and care for the residents of Shorncliffe and Totem Lodge. The Roberts Creek members will work with one of the other branches and continue to be an integral part of our healthcare system. The Bizarre Bazaar is back – at the Roberts Creek Hall on Sat. Nov. 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Sunshine Coast Grandmothers and Grandothers will have a silent auction, crafts, yummy lunch and more, with proceeds to the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help a generation of children orphaned by the AIDS pandemic in Africa.
