Friday Madeira Market is on this Aug. 23 and every Friday through to the end of September. Come browse the interesting vendors’ booths and enjoy delicious food from Triple B’s under the shady trees in Madeira Gardens. New vendors are always welcome. Tables are $10, with proceeds to the Pender Harbour Community Club.

The Harbour Gallery, a block down the road from the gardens, is open seven days a week. This gem is a wonderful place to visit and browse the works of talented local artists. You may find a special keepsake to remind you of the summer of 2019 in paradise.

You Are Not Alone, a support group for women, will meet Wednesday, Aug. 28, 7 p.m. at Anderson Creek Hall, 13625 Sunshine Coast Hwy. All are welcome. This get together is a come as you are space for women to connect, share, listen, encourage, be heard, and seek help or advice in a non-judgmental and confidential environment. Come early at 6 p.m. for soup and a bun. The gathering takes place the last Wednesday of each month. Contact notaloneph@gmail.com for more information.

PAWSitively Pender Harbour will be a fun fundraiser for the local BCSPCA and Gibsons Wildlife Rehab Centre, on Saturday, Sept. 7 at EarthFair Store. This is your chance to thank and show support for Clint and Irene Davy and the BCSPCA for the miraculous work they do for all Sunshine Coast creatures. There will be baking, treats for humans and furkids, fresh local produce and flowers, No Flea Flee Market, Love My Pet Jewelry, prizes and more. Donations of baking and produce are welcome!

Fall Faire, Oct. 5, will include a vendors’ village in the PH Hall. Tables are just $25. Volunteers who would like to enjoy the fun and games on the front line are welcome. Text or call Dilys 604-989-0851. Stay tuned for more details of a fabulous contest, something to do with straw?
