Coffee House this Friday night March 13 has a full and exciting program of strong performers, Lori Carmichael, David Jones, Michelle Morand, and The Lynne Urquhart Band. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. at the School of Music.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. at the School of Music. The musicians benefit from the donations at the door and the local choir from the sale of fabulous desserts, coffee and tea. Suggested minimum donation at the door $10. 

FLAIR on the Coast cancer support group this Saturday, March 14 welcomes guest speaker Philip Kraukamp, a doctor of ophthalmology. Any questions you may have on dealing with changes to your vision as you go through medical treatments can be addressed, 10 a.m. to noon at Rockwood Centre, Sechelt. Sunday Jam at The Clubhouse March 15 headlines the fabulous, amazing Simon Paradis. Come enjoy the food, music and a very good time at Pender Harbour Golf Club. Music goes 2 until 6 p.m. Admission by donation. 

Pender Harbour Wildlife Society will host Andy Teal, March 17 presenting Oil Spills: a reflection on the Valdez Spill, insights and lessons learned. Andy was a key member of the response organization for three years 1989 to 1992. His role as the shoreline cleanup manager during that time provided a unique perspective and insight. This is a free public event, doors open at 6:30 p.m. Note change of usual venue: at the Anderson Creek Hall, basement of Christ the Redeemer Church (next to PHSS). Home baked refreshments and raffle. 

March 17, celebrate St. Paddy’s Day at The Legion. Wear green, win prizes, dine on Irish stew and ruebens, raise a pint to the great music of Skinny Jimmy and Harpdog Barker starting at 4 p.m.. Doors open at 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. 

Harbourside Friendship, Thursday March 19 welcomes returning, favourite performer Skinny Jimmy. Coffee at 10:30 a.m. followed by Jimmy’s performance and lunch at noon, at The Hall, drop-in $10. 

Pender Harbour Garden Club will meet Monday, March 23. Guest speaker Michelle Young from Ruby’s Run Urban Farm is an avid organic farmer and landscape contractor spending the last 25 years working in the fields of healing arts and organic land care. Her presentation will be about growing organic fruits, vegetables and flowers. Meeting starts at 1 p.m. at the School of Music. Annual membership is $15, due at this meeting. 

The Pender Harbour Women’s Connection welcomes Haida Bolton, president of the Sechelt Sunshine Toastmasters Club, to their get together March 24. This is a chance to learn the history and benefits of personal development and fun offered through the Toastmasters organization. Haida will deliver her speech Embracing the Power of Your Voice: Healing the Child Within, prepared for the 2020 speech contest. Doors open at 9:45 a.m., presentation at 10 a.m. at the School of Music. Refreshments. Drop in $3. 

Stepping Out Friday, March 27 will be a musical event showcasing performances by Edmund Arceo, Jean Curry and Sandy Matches, Nancy Enns with Ted Woodward, J.A.M.S., Joan and Ted, SASS, Shine! Triad, Allan and Shelley Nienhuis. Enjoy delicious desserts with all proceeds going to the choir’s trip to sing with the Naramata Choir. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. at the School of Music. Admission by donation. 

Pender Harbor Music Society’s next concert Saturday, March 28, 7 p.m. will be a special evening with the Slocan Ramblers, Canada’s hottest roots band, Juno nominated, acoustic bluegrass, folk and old-time country group take the stage at the School of Music. Your baking, donations, furkids attending, kind words and flowers were amazing, inspiring and beyond wonderful. Animals and humans will benefit with proceeds going to Elderdog Ca, Thank Dog I Am Out, Gibsons Wildlife and BCSPCA.
