Pender Harbour & Egmont: Art Crawl starts Friday

This Friday, Oct. 18 is the start of the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl.

From Earl’s Cove to Gambier Island, Crawlers can tour 186 galleries, meet the artists, take in demos and events and enjoy the spectacular world-class creations of our Coast’s talented artists in their studios. The Clubhouse Jam this Sunday, Oct. 20, 2 to 6 p.m., features the fantastic Peter Van Trio with guest Dennis Detroit. Come enjoy an afternoon of amazing music, great food and beverages. Admission by donation. Huge thanks to Mike and his wonderful staff at The Clubhouse and Marilyn MacLeod, Pender Harbour Blues Society president and ace organizer, for bringing us a special musical event with top drawer performers each Sunday. Fridays at The Clubhouse, listen to the music of Shine while you fine dine. 

Women’s Connection welcomes artisan and musician Patricia Burnett. Patricia is well known for her extraordinary concerts, Carole King Revisited, and will give insight into her life as an entertainer and promises a couple of songs. She will also display and discuss the origin of her unique line of jewelry Funky Cool Patina. Come meet this lovely, talented artist Tuesday, Oct.  22 at the School of Music, $2 drop-in fee. Refreshments served. 

Harbourside Friendships Thursday, Oct. 24 will be a time of friendly discussions and games. Join the group at 10:30 a.m. at the Hall. Lunch served at noon. Drop in $10.

Friday, Oct. 25 Quiz Night at the Legion will support the Yew Transition House, a women’s and children’s shelter hosted by the Alan Stewart Team, Royal LePage shelter foundation. 

Pender Harbour Blues Society presents the 11th annual Halloween Howl and Costume Extravaganza with Gary Comeau and The Voodoo Allstars – just a week away! Saturday, Oct. 26, 8 p.m. at the Hall, put on those dancin’ shoes with your show-stopping, first-prize-winning costume. The competition will be fierce and the music amazing. No, you didn’t miss the Mushroom Festival. The founders of the Ruby Lake Lagoon Society are pleased to announce they will be hosting the Mushroom and Seaweed Festival, Nov. 1 to 3, Friday night through Sunday. The festival is designed to celebrate the biodiversity found in the forest and intertidal zone and will feature guest speakers, exhibits, an identification forum, vendors and forays. See www.lagoon
