Thursday, Aug. 1, Harbourside Friendship has an outing planned to Lions Park for a BBQ lunch. Later in the month a special adventure is planned, a boat tour to Hotham Sound and Skookumchuck with high tide tours Thursday, Aug. 29. Cost is $35 plus lunch. Reserve with Marlene at 604-883-9900.

Friday, Aug. 2, come to the PH Community Club Madeira Market. Shop at the talented artists booths, and enjoy home-baked goodies for you and your furkid (proceeds to the local BCSPCA). Have a seat and enjoy coffee or a cold drink and lunch under the shady trees at Triple B’s Burger Stand. Vendors: call 604-989-0851 to reserve a spot.

Pender Harbour Days, a three-day celebration of Pender Harbour’s nautical history and heritage, starts Aug. 2. The boat parade departing from the government dock later that day will be a fine collection of vintage vessels and modern craft that will tour the harbour.

Pender Harbour Days Coffee House at the School of Music, a showcase of favourite local musicians, has a fantastic line up on Friday evening. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., music at 8 p.m. with Katrina Bishop, singer, songwriter, pianist; Joan and Ted, duo, vocal harmonies, guitar; Shine! with Nancy Pincombe, vocals, and Ken Johnson, piano; and Simon Paradis, singer, songwriter, guitarist. Saturday will be non-stop activities, demonstrations, music and displays at Millennium Park.

The Pender Harbour Paddling Society will be part of the celebration.

The revived Fall Faire Oct. 5 will have favourite activities and competitions. Volunteers are needed to judge and help with the exhibition, chili cookoff, scarecrow competition, Hilda the cow milking competition and 50/50 draw.
