Ready, set, go! The Literacy Crawl is underway Jan. 11 to 29. This year the Pender Harbour Literacy Crawl is moving outdoors. During these last three weeks of January, you will notice colourful letters posted around the community; store fronts, hiking trails. Get out your notebook and explore! Letters are posted in six areas: Egmont, Garden Bay, Kleindale, Madeira Park and SC Highway intersection by the Health Centre.
Note letters you find in each area and unscramble to form a word. When all words are collected, they form a phrase. Complete the entry form at www.pendercommunity.ca. You could win a draw prize!

The past week has brought a train of intense windstorms, resulting in downed trees and power outages. The efforts of hardworking crews, hydro, traffic control and others out in the height of the storm working up to 17-hour shifts were truly heroic, restoring power in our area in record time. We are so grateful. Thank you for lighting up our lives and spirits during these unusual times.
Keep safe everyone, carry on with the simple, important, effective protocols and be prepared for those coming storms.
